8 Months Old

Happy Holidays from The Hardwick Family!
Thank you Jessica Tirey Scott for these awesome pics! :)

I remember as a kid, Christmas couldn't be any better.  Now that I have a kid, it's SO much better.

Grayson received about a million toys from Santa, family, and friends.
We may never need to leave the house again.

My good friend, Kristina - owner of Memorable Moments Photography took these amazing photos of Grayson.
We gave them as Christmas presents to our parents.  They were a hit!
OK, I know I'm his mom but come on, this boy is so handsome!

Alright, now I debated whether I would post this video.
Some of you know, Grayson HATES to hear me sing...especially if he's tired, hungry, hot, cold, awake, etc.
When we discovered this - of course the camera starting rolling....so here you go
Enjoy! :)

2013 was so good to us! I can't wait to see what the new year will bring!

7 Months Old

It's getting harder and harder to be on time with this blog.
It's not that life is hard or that Grayson is difficult.  He's actually a lot easier now.
Either he's easier, or I kind of know what I'm doing now.
Well - it only took 7 months to get the hang of it.  :)

He looks so grown now!

I promised to post pics from Halloween a LONG time ago.
So this blog will be a Halloween/Thanksgiving special.
I figure I only have a limited time of making my child look ridiculously cute before he wants to dress himself.
Let me introduce you to BIKER GRAYSON!

He is the cutest biker ever!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving week spent with David's side of the family.  We rented a house in the Outer Banks.  Grayson did great on his first trip.  He was full of energy, making the funniest new sounds, and "crawling" all over the place.  He was great entertainment!

He was cutting his to front teeth on a bone.
David tried to take it away from him at one point.  Big mistake!

My grandma turned 92 this month!  We are blessed to have her in our lives!

I know I keep saying it, but every month gets better.
Grayson's is developing into a fun-loving, crazy, full-of-energy child.
We are blessed!

6 Months Old!

My big boy is 6 Months Old!

My oh my where does the time go?

Grayson is getting bigger by the minute and now that he is officially six months old,
I feel like he’s turning into a little boy, rather than my little baby.
Ok, I've never really had a little baby.
Here a few things Grayson has been up to lately.
+ Rolling and rolling everywhere he wants to go.
+ He can sit up with support and sometimes on his own.
+ He loves playing with toys now.  He presses the buttons to hear the sounds and of course, everything goes in his mouth
+ Grayson is eating like a champ! Besides bottles, he eats a fruit with oatmeal in the morning and veggies for lunch and dinner.  We just started introducing meat this week.  His pediatrician suggested it.

+ He weighs 24 pounds and is 31 inches long.  He lost weight since his last checkup, but the doc is concerned about his weight.  :(  Grayson is on a diet!

+ The amount smiles and laughter that come out of this boy are unreal.  He really is such a happy baby. Of course, we have our share of the grumps too.

+ Sometimes he wakes up once during the night because of diaper overload!  We have tried many different nighttime diapers.  It's crazy how heavy those things can get.  If he does wake up, we just change him and put him back down.  He gets up around 7am now.  No more sleeping in for Mommy.  He goes to bed earlier though, which mean Mommy and Daddy go to bed earlier too!
+ He’s at the age now where it’s fun and pretty easy to bring him places. He's very observant, taking in all the sights and sounds.  He's also a huge flirt
+ Overall, he is so sweet and so much fun.

Here are some cute pics from this month:
Visiting with Memaw.  She was cracking him up!

Grayson and Noel hung out at Mt. Trashmore.

We visited Hunt Club Farm and picked a pumpkin from the patch!

Papa Jim and Grandma Leta came to visit last week.   And yes, Grayson is wearing a Christmas sleeper in October.  He will be too big for it at Christmas :(

Check out his TWO teeth!

Mummy's little treat! Grayson is all ready for Halloween!  I will post pictures on here next week.
His costume is gonna be awesome!

He is so expressive and fun!  His personality is sparking!

5 Months Old

Grayson is 5 months old and it's time for another update!

It's officially fall!
I can't believe this time last year, I was announcing that I was pregnant.
This year has flown by!

I feel like there’s been so much that he’s doing that’s new this month.
He's eating solids now.
It has been so much fun to see his reaction to new foods and watch him learn the new skill of eating with a spoon.
So far carrotts, bananas, and avocados go down just fine with no problem.
Sweet potatoes, spinach, and squash bring on montezuma's revenge.  :(

Another fun development this month is that Grayson is rolling around so much now!
His strength has always amazed me.
This month, he is flipping from back to front and front to back like a champ!

I had to pack up his swaddler, or straight jacket as some call it.  I loved that thing.

Our once-an-awesome-sleeper has been waking up at 4am for an entire week.
He is so hungry.  So I don't know if it was a growth spurt or what.
I'm hoping that it's all over and we can go back to normal.  Mama needs her sleep too!
We were so used to good sleep since he was 5 weeks old.

I bought Grayson this awesome walker.  I was so excited for him to try it out.
He could really take it or leave it.  He gets frustrated when he ends up walking backwards.
He really prefers his bouncer or kick-n-play piano still.

We don't have another dr. appointment until he is 6 months so I don't know his exact stats, but he has grown SOOOO much this month.
Most of the clothes he wears are 12-18 months.
We measured him at home and he's around 26 lbs and 28 inches.
Crazy big.
He's starting to look like a toddler now.

He rode in the front of the shopping cart for the first time this month.
Do other moms get excited and take pics like this?!?
I love this arm propped up in this pic.  He's just chillin'.

As I'm writing this, I can see his that his first tooth came through.
His FIRST TOOTH!  Oh my gosh! My little baby is growing up so fast!
I tried to get an up-close pic, but he was NOT having that.

He is finding his voice!  He makes the funniest sounds now.

Can you tell I'm a proud mama?

I love you lil G!

4 Months Old

Happy 4 Months Baby Grayson!

I know I'm late with this entry.  The truth is, I'm just busy being a mom.  My life has changed so much in the past 4 months.  I'm no expert, but I think I have this mommy thing down.

I really do love this stage.  He is all smiles, laughs, coos, and squeals. He is very interactive, which is so much fun.   We went to the doctor Monday for his 4 month checkup.  Obviously, Grayson is on the hefty side.  He is off the charts in weight, weight to length, and he's got a big head.  More to love right?

The big thing I was looking forward to was the green light to start introducing solid foods.
I actually started a few weeks ago with Rice.  He LOVES it!

I can't wait to start introducing vegetables this week.  I'm going to try and make my own baby food.  It's way cheaper and I feel good about giving him fresh veggies.  Maybe this will help David and I eat more veggies too.  :)

Grayson has been drooling like crazy for weeks.  I think he's teething....or turning into a pug.  I have tried that teething necklace that so many of my friends swear by.  I really don't notice a difference at all.    I wish I did.  I wanted that thing to work so bad. I hate that he's hurting.

In other news, Grayson got to visit his girlfriend, Noel, yesterday.
Noel is 7 months old.  Grayson likes the older women!

When Grayson was first born, I thought his great grandma would never get to meet him.  Her health was declining fast.  We have been so blessed to have her in our lives this long.  She's 91 years old!  Grayson has got to spend a lot of time with her.

He LOVES spending time with his Grandmas.  I just love this pic of them spoiling him with attention.

And this is what happens when my parents watch him.

Grayson is still not a fan of his Daddy's kisses.
I love it!

We have enjoyed our summer.  I'm sad to see it come to an end.  We've spent many family days swimming, playing, and just enjoying each other.

Thank you God for this blessing!
